Virtual driving… then very real!
Sébastien Ogier got into the cockpit of the GR010 Hybrid for a driving session… on a driving simulator. For two days, he chatted with the engineers and familiarized himself with the nearly 700 hp prototype, which he will really take in hand from November 7 during the Rookie Test on the Bahrain circuit.
“The simulator session went well; it was nice to work with the team and experience the GR010 Hybrid for the first time. I already feel that the Hypercar is very different from the TS050 Hybrid that I drove on a simulator last year.“
Endurance, a dream for Sébastien Ogier
Sébastien Ogier will leave the World Rally Championship in 2022 to keep only a partial driving program. What about his free time? He makes no secret of wanting to keep him busy racing on the circuit. ” As everyone knows, it is a dream of mine to participate in endurance races in the future. The testing in Bahrain is important to learn more about the car and about my own level. It’s a big challenge for me and I’m working hard to be ready for Bahrain. But I can’t wait to be there He said. This freelance, if it is successful, will it offer Sébastien Ogier his ticket for the 2022 season? To be continued, since the Frenchman is not the only one evaluated by Toyota. Charles Milesi, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an Oreca from the WRT team, will also be on the trip.
