A Citroën 2CV Charleston stocked for almost 40 years, after having traveled only 39 km, was auctioned in Paris last June by my house Aguttes. Kept in the shelter in its original state, it changed hands for less than € 50,000.
[Mis à jour le 05/08/2021] Aguttes organized its summer auction on June 20. Many French cars produced between the 1950s and the 1980s were offered there. Among these is an almost new Citroën 2CV Charleston, since it only displays 39 small kilometers on the odometer. The Charleston versions are already among the most popular.

Only one journey from leaving the concession
This 2CV was ordered in 1981, just after the Charleston, which was previously a limited series, was incorporated into Citroën’s regular lineup. Its purchaser was a collector of cars of the well-known brand of the manufacturer. He requested that his car be fitted with Ami Super rims painted in Delage red to echo the Charleston livery. According to Aguttes, the new 2CVs had traveled around 9 km at the time of delivery (distance between production workshops, final tests, etc.), and the 30 km that this one made after leaving the factory in 1982 only represents the distance separating the concession where it was delivered from the home of its owner. Because the latter has never taken the wheel since.
More than 50,000 € for a 2CV?
Kept under covers for nearly 40 years therefore, this 2CV was born again to be put on sale. Even the air in the tires is the same as on the first day. The car was not started and its brakes were not applied for this “barn exit”. The car is sold with its registration certificate, but without technical control. Estimated between € 35,000 and € 55,000, it was finally sold for € 47,560.
