Suzuki announces the launch of a new 1.5 Dualjet hybrid engine with 115 hp in the Vitara catalog. It will be available on the urban SUV from February 2022. Starting price: from € 27,890 with the Privilege intermediate finish.
The Suzuki Vitara, renewed in February 2020, has a new engine. In addition to the 48V micro-hybrid block 1.4, the Japanese manufacturer introduces a 1.5 hybrid of its design. This new engine will be available in concession from February 2022 and will also equip the S-Cross during the second half of 2022.
An unprecedented hybrid drive
In the world of hybrids, we distinguish lmicro-hybrid versions, classic hybrids and plug-in (PHEV). The latter are capable of traveling about fifty kilometers in a 100% electric version. Suzuki did not make this choice and is satisfied with an intermediate hybridization. The 1.5 petrol of 102 hp is associated with an electric motor / generator of 33 hp (24 kW). It is powered by an 840 Wh battery. The set delivers a cumulative power of 115 ch. LThe Suzuki SUV is only available in automatic transmission and can take advantage of all-wheel drive. Different driving modes are available to optimize the phases of use of the electric motor and thus limit consumption and CO emissions.2 (5.3 l and 121g / km maximum). In this hybrid configuration, 100% electric driving does not exceed approximately 3 km.
Price of the Suzuki Vitara 1.5 hybrid (2022)
This new engine, unavailable with the entry-level Avantage finish, starts at € 27,890. With equivalent finish and transmission, the hybrid unit generates an additional cost of € 1,300. Note that only versions equipped with all-wheel drive are subject to a penalty between 150 and 230 € depending on the equipment.
