Emmanuel Macron ushered in the era of presidential SUVs. To succeed the official DS 7 Crossback and Peugeot 5008, we imagined the Renault Austral which could carry the next occupant of the Élysée Palace.
President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated SUVs as company vehicles. It all started with a DS 7 Crossback convertible during his investiture ceremony on May 14, 2017. The car was only used that day. The Head of State then moved to Peugeot, benefiting from the services of an armored 5008 on July 14, 2018. Ditto in 2019.
Finally, he once again called on the services of the premium brand DS – which, like Peugeot, is in the bosom of the giant Stellantis – with an exclusive elongated version of the DS 7 Crossback. The latter made its first laps on the occasion of the commemorations of November 11, 2021.

From Esprit Alpine to Esprit Élysée
The SUV is the ideal vehicle for gaining height, but also to stick with the spirit which wants to be dynamic and above all unavoidable today. In short, the trendy vehicle. With this in mind, we imagined that the great rival, Renault, would offer the presidency a specific variant of its new Austral. In the spotlight of the media around the world, this would provide tremendous publicity for the launch of the model. Also, better than a Renault Austral Esprit Alpine, here is “our” Renault Austral Esprit Élysée! To adapt to the needs of the supreme function that Marine Le Pen or Emmanuel Macron will occupy, the vehicle has been modified. The Austral Esprit Élysée was, on the one hand, lengthened at the level of the wheelbase and, on the other hand, cut at the level of the roof in order to receive a canvas convertible top, essential for greeting the crowd.

Indeed, a larger Renault Austral, increasing its length from 4.50 m to 4.70 m will be on the program from 2023. It could perfectly serve as the basis for the next car of the Head or Head of State.
