It’s Air’s birthday
This is a flying Renault 4, we cannot describe it more clearly. Renault calls it the AIR4 and it is the final blast of a birthday party that has been going on for a year. The original Renault 4L turned 60 this year. “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads,” Renault said. The jury is still deliberating whether it is permissible to make a legendary BTTFquote just to translate.
The Renault AIR4 was built in collaboration with TheArsenale, a trading platform for independent producers of greedy stuff. For example, they sell an Equus Bass 770 on the platform, but also a Mil-Spec Hummer H1. The Renault flies on electricity and can reach an altitude of 700 meters. It reaches a horizontal speed of 96 km/h. The pilot can get in by tilting the carriage forward.
The Renault AIR4 seems to really be able to fly
So the AIR4 is in fact a large drone. “Generative design techniques and artificial intelligence enabled TheArsenale’s engineers to test multiple terabytes of data to improve and refine the designers’ ideas before the first real-world tests even started,” said Renault. It is not clear whether the AIR4 has actually flown before and whether it will actually do so. But in theory it should be possible.
The Renault AIR4 will in any case be exhibited in Paris from next week. Next year Renault will show it in Miami and New York. Special, because no Renaults are sold in the United States.
