A smart girl… is also prepared for the transition
Nearly 2 million women in the Netherlands are between the ages of 45 and 60. And that is the age phase in which the transition takes place. The transition: an unknown and even a bit of a taboo topic, but very important to have a Healthy Conversation. We do this with Dorenda van Dijken, gynaecologist at the OLVG.
Did you know that as many as 80 percent of women have menopausal symptoms? These are annoying complaints such as hot flashes, palpitations, mood swings, headaches, weight gain, dizziness and poor sleep. In this episode of Healthy Conversation, we talk about the transition and its impact on your life – and on your environment. Our expert is Dorenda van Dijken. She has been a gynecologist at the OLVG in Amsterdam for 25 years and chair of the Dutch Menopause Society. Dorenda tells in this podcast what the transition is, what to expect, when to go to the doctor and whether taking hormones is a good idea. Listen! Even if your partner, mother or sister is in this age phase. Because a smart girl… is also prepared for the transition.
Healthy Conversation is presented by Karine Hoenderdos and produced by Jonne Seriese on behalf of Dag en Nacht Media. The tune is by The Yearlings. You can subscribe to Healthy Conversation via the links below. And of course you can also leave a review there (and we love that!).
