Bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, headaches… are often the counterpart of drunken evenings where the calorie counter has exploded. Our digestive tract is not designed to receive so many calories in such a short time, which requires a considerable effort of adaptation. So to help your body digest well and start this new year on the right foot, we have prepared this little healthy schedule for you, with nutritional advice from Maxime Mességué, dietitian-nutritionist, author of My one-day detox diet (ed. Leduc s.pratique).
9:30 am: the ideal time to get out of bed
After a short night, we are inevitably tempted to extend the lie-in. But if you open your eyes later than 9:30-10 a.m., you risk being delayed all weekend because your circadian rhythm (the sleep-wake rhythm) will be completely out of order. In addition, sleeping too long in the morning can cause a migraine attack. Better to sleep a little less in the morning and rest during the day.
10:30 a.m.: detox breakfast
After an invigorating visit to the bathroom, we prepare a detox breakfast. Today, do not skip the drink because alcohol dehydrates: when you wake up, drink a glass of water with lemon juice.
Then, to clean yourself up from the feasts of the day before, take a bowl of green tea, 1 glass of kefir and 2 slices of buckwheat with an almond/banana purée (mash half a banana with a teaspoon of almond purée and 1 pinch of cinnamon). This will help your body to properly eliminate the excesses of New Year’s Eve.
12:30 p.m.: light lunch
Do you feel overwhelmed? Put two drops of peppermint essential oil on a very small teaspoon of honey and let this mixture melt in your mouth. Then prepare yourself a bowl of broth with vermicelli.
But if your liver isn’t a problem for you, you can have a light lunch: a bowl of steamed chicken breast and green bean salad to which you add grapefruit wedges to detoxify the body while maintaining energy. Forget the rest of the log and opt instead for a ramekin of red fruits that will help you eliminate toxins.

2 p.m.: mandatory siesta
You have followed our advice and you have given up sleeping in: congratulations! On the other hand, you can, without complex, give yourself a restorative nap to recharge your batteries. The ideal nap: a quarter of an hour after the end of your lunch, take off any clothing that could oppress you and lie down in the dark. Sleep a full cycle, that is between 1:30 and 2:10. No need to watch the time, you will wake up spontaneously.
4 p.m.: two exercises to do outside
To help your body properly eliminate the damage of the day before, it is important to get some oxygen out. If you are enough fit to run, put on your running shoes and follow your usual route. But walking at a good pace is enough: all activities are good if they are practiced outside, if possible in a park or green space near your home.
An exercise to stimulate your liver:
- Standing, feet parallel and apart, place your hands on your thighs.
- Exhale as you bend your right leg, while keeping your left leg straight.
- Stay a few seconds in this posture, then return to the starting position while inhaling.
- Repeat on the other side, bending the right leg. Slightly tilt the bust forward.
- Repeat this stretch ten times on each side.
An exercise to regulate the stomach
- Come back with your feet parallel, slightly apart. The arms are totally relaxed and relaxed.
- Gently raise your hands to stomach level, palms up.
- Separate the hands: the left arm up and the right arm down. Stretch your body gently, on your tiptoes.
- The palm of the right hand is open as if you are pushing the ground and the palm of the left hand is open as if you are pushing the sky.
- Repeat this movement ten times, changing arms.
7 p.m.: bath and detox dinner
When you return from your outdoor walk, draw a bath in which you mix half a cup of sea salt. Salt is rich in minerals and microelements, which helps to recharge your body’s reserves. Soak in your bath for at least a quarter of an hour and drink plenty as soon as you get out (you’ll find 12 detox drink recipes here).
For a light dinner, prepare a fish papillote. Recipe : Place 1 hake fillet on a sheet of baking paper. Add 1 zucchini and 1 carrot cut into strips. Sprinkle with turmeric, and add the juice of half a lemon and 1 sprig of rosemary. Close the foil and bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 180°.
For dessert, add some red fruits to a natural yogurt.
