February 8, 2002 – PasseportSanté.net is no exception to the tradition of Valentine’s Day and would like to present its favorites for a romantic and aphrodisiacally healthy evening …
Get in the mood
If you don’t have a happy heart and are a little cold with your loved one, holly (Ilex aquifolium, holly) in Bach Flowers will promote your feeling of love and understanding for her. Pour two drops into a glass of water and sip it several times during the day.
Before his arrival, give yourself some heart to your stomach by rubbing yourself with a vegetable soap made with donkey milk and vanilla (Vanilla planifolia). In addition to softening your skin, it will leave a light scent of vanilla on your skin which will subtly awaken your partner’s ardor.
Nothing like a glass of mandrake wine (Mandragora officinarum) to break the ice, but not the hearts and relax the atmosphere. Be careful, however, because the mandrake is as famous for its aphrodisiac as anesthetic properties. It is up to you to take the right dose, especially since it is also nicknamed “the herb of life and death” by the Romanian philosopher Mircea Eliade!
The main course
Before getting to the heart of the debate or lovemaking, you took care to simmer an irresistible little dish for your Valentine: a pumpkin pie seasoned with a few drops of lavender essential oil (Lavendula angustifolia). For your Valentine, prefer a few slices of cucumber sprinkled with licorice extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) as an appetizer. Noteworthy: according to a study conducted by the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation from Chicago1, the lavender / pumpkin pie scent mix was most effective in increasing penile blood flow and the cucumber / licorice scent was most effective in increasing vaginal blood flow.
Serve your main course with a heart of rocket lettuce (Arugula rucola). Its young shoots have a nutty aftertaste while the ripe ones give off a tangy flavor. Why the arugula? You only have to know that Saint Hildegard forbade her to her nonnettes and that she was proscribed from the monastic gardens!2
And for dessert …
Now is the time to take your ace of hearts out of the freezer. For dessert, offer the famous salepi dondurma3, fox testicle ice cream. Rest assured because it owes its nickname to the form of its main ingredient, the dried bulb of wild orchid. This specialty of eastern Turkey has, it seems, virtues that make it deserve its name …
You don’t have to know all of these ingredients by heart. Trust your intuition and remember that when it comes to aphrodisiacs, the placebo effect plays an important role. Happy Valentine’s day!
