The basic yogurt cake recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pot of plain yogurt
- 1/2 jar of sunflower oil
- 2 jars of sugar
- 3 jars of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
Recipe
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (th. 6).
- Pour the yogurt into a salad bowl. Add the oil, sugar and vanilla sugar, whisk, then add the eggs and whisk again.
- Incorporate the flour mixed with the baking powder. Oil a springform pan, pour in the dough, then cook for 30 min.
- The point of a knife stuck through the center should come out dry.
Tips for success
- We choose rather neutral oil (sunflower, grape seeds). But you can also take olive, walnut or hazelnut oil, to bring a little discreet flavor.
- The secret of softness? A whole milk yogurt! But you can also use yogurt made from sheep’s or goat’s milk.
How to revisit the yogurt cake?
With spices : use semi-wholemeal or wholemeal flour, and flavor the cake with 1 tbsp. level teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. level teaspoon ground ginger and 1/2 tsp. of powdered cardamom.
With coconut: add the equivalent of a pot of grated coconut yogurt and 1 egg.
Hazelnut : replace 1 jar of flour with 1 jar of hazelnut powder. Mega-gourmet version, cut the cake horizontally once cooled and spread it with the hazelnut paste …
With pineapple : place a few well-drained pineapple rings in syrup at the bottom of the buttered mold before pouring the dough. Out of the oven, drizzle the cake with the equivalent of 2 jars of pineapple syrup.
With wholemeal flour : with T110 flour, this cake will have a more distinctive flavor.
