Renault Mégane E-Tech 100% electric dashboard — The 100% electric Renault Mégane E-Tech (photo) offers an “L” digital interface.

As with the 100% electric Renault Mégane E-Tech, the Renault Austral will also benefit from a large digital interface. Screens gathered in the shape of an “L” form a large one-piece panel in front of the driver and vertically in the center of the dashboard. You will have to get used to it because in the future it will be the furniture for all the future creations of the diamond brand. Called OpenR, this very intuitive system is based on Google’s Android platform.

For the Mégane, the instrument panel in front of the driver has a diagonal of 12.3 inches and the central touch screen, benefits on the most upscale finishes from a diagonal of 12 inches. Count on 9 inches for the entry level. It would be logical for the Austral to adopt similar formats, for the moment the manufacturer does not specify it. On this unique drawing, a design provided by the Renault styling teams now under the leadership of Gilles Vidal, we can also and fortunately distinguish physical controls, in particular for operating the ventilation. With, again, elements identical to the electric Mégane E-Tech (BCB).
