Neighborhood apps are intended to make the neighborhood safer and to increase contact between residents. But it is also regularly disputed. Are you happy with your neighborhood app?
In twenty percent of the neighborhood apps quarrels sometimes arise, according to a survey by VPNGids.nl among 1200 Dutch people. The number of respondents who are annoyed by messages from others is even twice as high.
However, neighborhood apps do seem effective. For example, 45 percent of people feel safer in their neighborhood because of the app. And 34 percent of people indicate that a crime has sometimes been solved or prevented via the app.
