You are not dreaming: the Renault 5 Turbo in the image takes off from several meters high! But don’t worry, this is an advertising campaign by the French brand to promote its scale models. And this is not the first time that automotive players have had fun with this subject…
” Try this at home “. Here is the slogan used by Renault on several of its recent advertisements, presenting cars in completely crazy situations. An entertaining initiative which is reminiscent of what Citroën had done with the Friend, for example. Except that here, it’s not real cars but miniatures put in situations to make some professional stuntmen blush.
Renault promotes its range of scale models
The Diamond manufacturer takes care of its range of derivative products, and in particular small cars. It regularly offers new initiatives: whether through the addition of new models (as there was in 2021 for the anniversary of the 4L) or here through humour, Renault is betting on an offbeat but successful communication plan. .
The 3 advertisements also promote the diversity of its vehicles. Indeed, on the Renault website, there are both sports cars like the Renault 12 Gordini and popular cars like the R4. These are available in 1/18 scaleand1/43and or in small format.
The miniature car: source of creativity
Staging scale models is certainly not a common practice, but it has already been used over time. Latest example: Honda leaked a video of his Civic during the first lockdown in 2020. 30 seconds after various shots of the model driving around, the viewer finally realizes it was just a small car. The specialist in the Minichamps sector had also carried out an advertising campaign where the logos of the car manufacturers had been replaced by miniature and above all, cute versions. A fork for Maserati, a cat instead of the Jaguar of the eponymous brand…
Finally, several photographers had fun creating content around the miniature car. The professional Kunal Kelkar thus had the idea of putting a Lamborghini Huracan on a treadmill. And the result, to be found in images in our slideshow, is more than astonishing. Félicien Michaut, at the head of French Cars Toys, also imagines more or less exotic places to put his miniatures. And it would seem that Renault is one of its favorite manufacturers.
