Pre-menstrual syndrome: chaste tree
Swollen and painful breasts, tense stomach, black thoughts … the symptoms premenstrual syndrome occur regularly in the days preceding the rules and affect nearly 8 out of 10 women. Chaste tree helps to regulate the hormonal variations responsible for these inconveniences. Its berries have sedative properties and regulate premenstrual syndrome or pre-menopause. Doctor Bérengère Arnal, gynecologist, advises the chaste tree as a mother tincture or capsules between the 8th and 21st day of the cycle, for at least three months.

Irregular periods: parsley

Painful periods sage
Clary sage(Salvia sclarea) and sage (Salvia officinalis) both have estrogen-like properties. For this reason, they are particularly suitable for puberty and menopause. In short, sage is “the” plant that will accompany the major stages in the life of women by providing them with energy and relieving period pain. But beware: sage is contraindicated for all cases of hyperestrogenia and hormone-dependent cancers (breast or uterine cancer). For this reason, it is better not to use it over the long term without medical advice.
Heavy periods: witch hazel
Formerly called “witch hazel”, witch hazel is a plant that tones the vascular walls by vasoconstriction. In fact, it is a great anti-hemorrhagic remedy, also recognized in cases venous insufficiency and varicose veins, which particularly affect women. Thanks to the flavonoids it contains, witch hazel also decreases pelvic congestion, thus reducing abundance of rules. It can be consumed as a decoction, infusion, mother tincture or capsules.

Menopause worries: hops
Hops are the plant of choice for combating inconvenience of menopause , thanks to the hopin it contains, a very powerful phytoestrogen. Hops helps fight hot flashes, boosts libido and helps fight osteoporosis. It is also a plant that regulates the autonomic nervous system, calms anxiety and helps fall asleep. To be consumed in the form of a standardized extract following the instructions of the laboratory, while taking care to arrange breaks in the treatment, by taking it only 5 days out of 7 for example.
- The aroma advice in addition: to fight against hot flashes, take 2 drops of clary sage essential oil in a teaspoon of honey, 3 times a day.
