The heir to the Nissan 370Z, launched in 2009, is on the way. Here are the first images of the bodywork of the Japanese sports coupe which will arrive in 2022. These are not official photos but synthetic images necessary to file industrial property patents.
[Mis à jour le 18/08/2021] The Proto Z unveiled almost a year ago could perfectly well pass for a production vehicle. This is confirmed with the presentation of the production version of the Nissan Z which takes almost all of its style. The coupe adopts a 405 hp 3.0L twin-turbo V6 combined with a manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic version. As expected, it will not be marketed in Europe, let alone in France.

In September 2020, Nissan unveiled, in prototype form, the next generation of the Nissan Z coupe. Here today are the final lines of the production version expected in 2022. The synthetic images necessary for filing industrial property patents have leaked onto the web. Between the two versions, the differences are really minimal.
The future Nissan 400Z?
Remember that this new generation of Nissan Z – which could be called Nissan 400Z but it is not yet official – refers to his glorious elders. Its look is indeed inspired by that of the Nissan 240Z of 1969 and especially of the 240ZG version which was reserved for the Japanese market. While at the level of the stern, the black band evokes, for its part, the 300 ZX Z32 of 1989.

400 horsepower under the hood?
Will the cutout at the back of the roof, just before the rear window, herald a future Targa variation?
Under the hood, the future Nissan Z should be able to count on a twin-turbo V6 unit borrowed from theInfiniti q60 Red Sport 400, with, as its name suggests, a power of 400 hp for a torque value of 474 Nm. The information is, for the moment, to be taken conditional, Nissan nevertheless assures that this new version of the Z will be more powerful than the current one. whose sharper variant (Nissan 370Z Nismo) peaks at 355 hp. Regardless, we have already made sure that this cavalry will be transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed mechanical gearbox.
The new Nissan Z will be marketed in 2022, in Japan and the United States, but no need to wait for it in Europe, it will not be sold there. Pity.
