An agreed evolution
In line with the evolution of the 2 Series Coupé, the future M2 will display a much more angular look than its predecessor, and dimensions revised upwards. Alas, the heavy camouflage of the copy in the image hides the details of its design. However, we guess widened fenders, double-spoke mirrors and a rear spoiler. Under the hood, the six-cylinder biturbo could send around 450 hp to the rear wheels, as on board the previous M2 CS. BMW promises to combine race car performance with everyday usability. Unlike its predecessor, the upcoming coupe could skip the manual gearbox. BMW has, in fact, announced that the entire 2 Series Coupé range will automatically receive an eight-speed automatic transmission. Will the M2 be an exception? Answer within a few months.
M like Mexico
Like the 2 Series Coupé in standard versions, the M2 will be assembled at BMW’s plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, from where it will be exported to all markets. This production center, which came into operation in 2019 with the 3 Series Sedan, will be the fourth plant to produce BMW M models with those in Munich (Germany), Dingolfing (Germany) and Spartanburg (United States).
