The second-generation Mercedes GLC Coupé was unearthed partially camouflaged not far from the brand’s headquarters in Stuttgart.

The second version of the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is expected on June 1, 2022. This does not prevent the SUV Coupe variant from stretching its legs, still a little camouflaged, not far from the brand’s headquarters.

The second generation of the Mercedes GLC (C254) is about to appear. the reveal is scheduled for 1^er next June. The coupé variant is expected for 2023. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé is in the starting blocks, partially camouflaged prototypes having been seen near the manufacturer’s headquarters in Stuttgart. To comply with the brand’s new visual identity, the GLC Coupé Mk2 (known internally under the code X254) will sport a sharper look and a grille whose decorative motif will be a constellation of stars. In detail, the line of the roof of the SUV coupe is more elegant, more fluid than that of its predecessor, which gave the impression, by the curve of its rear window, of dealing with a balloon. In addition, the edge between the rear window and the edge of the tailgate features a well-marked spoiler, which again brings dynamism to the whole.

100 km range in electric mode

In the passenger compartment, in all likelihood, the new Mercedes GLC and GLC Coupé will benefit from the new digital interface introduced by the Mercedes C-Class, namely an imposing touch screen occupying the entire center console, in the vein of what we found on board Teslas.

The chassis will benefit from steerable rear wheels pivoting at an angle of 4.5 degrees. Count even 10 degrees for versions with Airmatic air suspension. The range of engines will be shared by the two body types, and the 4Matic all-wheel drive as well as the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox will be systematically offered. The petrol and diesel blocks will generalize the 48 V light hybridization (MHEV technology), while the rechargeable hybrid variants (PHEV) will have a larger capacity battery allowing a range of 100 km in electric mode. The Mercedes GLC Coupé will be officially unveiled in the first half of 2023, but its marketing will only take place at the start of the next school year, almost a year after that of the second generation Mercedes GLC.
