A new medicine developed in Florida (USA), the SLU-PP-332would help you lose weight while promoting muscle development.
How ? In stimulating a natural metabolic pathway which generally responds to exercise. It thus targets a group of body proteins called ERRs, responsible for activating certain important metabolic pathways in energy-intensive tissues such as muscles, heart and brain.
Concretely, the SLU-PP-332 makes the body react as if it were training for a marathon, which leads to increased energy expenditure and a faster metabolism. The case study was published within the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
10 times less fat and a loss of 12% of body weight
This drug, belonging to the known class of “exercise mimetics” has been tested on mouse obese. A group of rodents were administered the drug twice a day for a month, while the other received a placebo.
Both groups continued to eat the same amount of food and no longer exercised. It turned out that the mice on treatment used “more energy just by living”, which led to weight loss, said study author Professor Burris. The latter also won 10 times less fat than others and lost 12% of their body weight… And this, without doing sports and without changing their diet.
They were also able to run about 45% more than before, without any prior training.
The good news is that, unlike Ozempic, this new drug does not affect appetite or food intake. As a reminder, Ozempic is a medication intended for diabetics to regulate blood sugar levels. Because it induces weight loss, many non-diabetic people have tried to obtain it. However, it has significant side effects.
Before this drug is available to humans, many steps are necessary. And if this treatment is promising, it does not exempt you from regular physical activityimportant for regulating weight but also for preventing chronic illnesses (diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc.) and for oxygenating the brain.
