A coupé version and a Renault 19 16S convertible are for sale in the Netherlands for €15,000 and €20,000 respectively. These youngtimers, with low kilometres, are presented in “competition” condition. Let’s discover these two nuggets offered by the Premium Classics site.
The phenomenon of youngtimers is still on the rise! While a Renault Clio Williams with 15 km on the clock is about to be auctioned in France by Aguttes, a Dutch dealer is offering two R19 16s for sale. The 1993 coupe is displayed at 15 000 € while the 1994 convertible is offered at 19 950 €… Almost triple its current rating.

Rather hair in the wind… or not?
The R19 Cabriolet, available on the site Premium Classics, is a 1994 phase 2 of Swiss origin having covered only 69,000 kilometres. Its high price is also justified by the fact that it is a first hand. The example, presented in its metallic black color with an interior trimmed in black leather, is in “competition” condition. The convertible has optional airbags as well as heated seats.
For those who prefer to drive with a fixed roof over their head, the Dutch site also offers an R19 16S coupe. The vehicle, purchased in 1993, is also in impeccable condition. The announcement does not specify the history of the owners. We just know that the coupé has covered less than 57,000 kilometers in almost 30 years. Compared to the convertible, the configuration is slightly different. If the exterior dress is always black, the interior upholstery is in black fabric with red patterns.
Copies like new
Apart from the leather of the front seats in the convertible, the two passenger compartments show almost no signs of wear. The plastics have no visible scratches. The heart of these Diamond youngtimers is identical: it is an entirely original 1.8 16-valve four-cylinder. It develops a power of 137 hp in the convertible and 140 hp in the coupé. The engine bay and the underbody of these two Renault 19 16S appear as shiny as when they left the factory! There is no doubt that these examples – preserved in such conditions – should soon find new owners.
