A Toyota GR Yaris showing around 3,500 km will be auctioned in Paris on February 3, 2022. Its high estimate exceeds its current list price. Radical in its performances and relatively rare, is the Japanese sportswoman already attracting speculators?
In these CO chase times2 and cost reduction ever more restrictive for the market for “pleasure” cars, it is an understatement to say that the Toyota GR Yaris had imposed itself – upon its announcement – as THE little sportswoman to follow. The rave reviews it has received since its launch in the spring of 2020 has allowed Toyota to confirm the test. The production of the GR Yaris is limited and, although it is not ultra-restricted given the targeted niche (25,000 units planned for the first year), this model could become an object of speculation. The copy which will be auctioned in Paris on February 3, 2022 by Bonhams could indicate the trend by its sale price.
Two owners in less than a year
The GR Yaris in question was registered for the first time on May 5, 2021 in Belgium. This is a High Performance version, the Belgian equivalent of the Track pack offered in France. It is therefore equipped with two Torsen self-locking differentials, among other equipment dedicated to sportier driving than in the standard configuration. Under the hood, we find the 261 hp 1.6 L turbo three-cylinder engine associated with all-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission.
An optimistic estimate?
The first owner of the car had it offered to him by his son, who resold it because she was being too nervous considering the age of its driver. It was then that it was acquired by the person who is about to put it up for sale. The speedometer of this GR Yaris displays a little over 3,500 km. La Nippone is estimated between € 28,000 and € 42,000, and VAT will be added to its selling price. The final amount therefore promises to be high for a second-hand copy when we know that a new GR Yaris Track is available to order in France for € 37,600, excluding the ecological penalty of € 10,011. Provided that the Les Grandes Marques du Monde sale in Paris is not canceled for health reasons, come back in a little less than a month to find out if this GR Yaris will have found a buyer, and if so at what price.
