The report recommends computerization of the drug circuit. In particular, he believes that the indoor pharmacy storage industry (PUI) must improve the legibility of labeling, especially for injectable solutions.
The report advocates that the doctor date and sign his prescriptions, to identify the prescriber of drugs.
He believes that the pharmacist should organize a secure delivery of drugs, thanks to storage cabinets, mobile, closed, with personalized drawers, robotized or not.
Finally, the report defines the role of the nurse: to organize the administration of the drug to the patient “in an atmosphere of calm”.
The National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Pharmacy adopted the text of this report and the recommendations unanimously in their respective sessions on November 3 and 4.
Between 71 and 94,000 serious adverse events related to care occur each year in France, for an annual hospitalization of 13 to 14 million people. The event is linked to a health product in 27% of cases and more specifically to a drug in 19% of cases.
