One of the shortcomings during this confinement, especially for teenagers, is certainly no longer being able to go to a fast food restaurant… This is an opportunity to rehabilitate the snack bar… Which will please a lot of people who, in a short time time, we hope, at work will not have time to eat anything else.
The Anglo-Saxons like to dictate their behavior to the whole world, and when it comes to nutrition, just look: the food policy pursued in the United States for more than fifty years has led the majority of the inhabitants of this country to a deplorable state of health. Let’s not even talk about Sandwich which is an English word, but rather about “snack”.

First of all, it’s a mini meal, so an excellent way to fight against snacking, which we know is the main fattening factor…
Because we eat too much, when we nibble, because we also eat disorderly. Our body is an exceptional machine that has been able to develop almost perfect means of control. Thus the stomach filling signal takes 20 minutes to reach the brain, which argues for meals that are long enough and that include starters that are not too high in calories. This gives us time to warn our brain that we are eating and that it is useless to prolong the hunger signal.
We rarely snack on vegetables, which gives us the opportunity to kill the public enemy of our arteries: peanuts. A handful of this snacking star is the equivalent of a good tablespoon of oil…
The chips…
It’s not better… and yet, it’s one of the errors when accompanying a snack! A potato chip provides almost as many calories as a whole boiled potato. Can you imagine eating a salad bowl of potatoes as an appetizer?
The bread
Bread is an excellent food even if it is not wholemeal bread. But it is still a sugar; certainly slow – make your children experience chewing a whole minute on a piece of bread, to see the taste of sugar revealed by the enzymes of our saliva.
To avoid being tempted to overeat, chew slowly! Look around you: people who eat slowly almost always have the line!
The composition of the ideal snack
A good slice of common sense!
To lose the pounds that our body can no longer support, we must eat a little less and above all better, that is to say balanced. And there, traditional food gets a pretty good rating. This tradition is written in our genes.
So the content of the ideal snack is 50% sweet foods such as bread, vegetables and fruits, a quarter of protein, that is to say fish, eggs and meats. A quarter of a fatty product knowing that fats are hiding everywhere, especially in meats and sauce preparations.
Balance is common sense
So I repeat: eat better, eat less and above all at the times provided for this… The Anglo-Saxons say that we eat lunch too late in our country… We could oppose the Spaniards who are doing rather better than them. However, the tradition of a very late meal followed by a nap, theoretically goes badly with the canons of dietetics.
No, the right formula is always a matter of common sense.
