All the breads don’t just want good things for you, especially sandwich bread. And for good reason, the industrial sandwich breads contain much more fatsof sugars and D’additives than fibers. This is what allows them to last longer.

One of the big problems with sandwich bread is its glycemic index. Rich in sugar, it causes a sudden increase in blood glucose levels. Sliced bread is therefore not very filling and conducive to excess weight as well as type 2 diabetes.
Adding chickpeas lowers the glycemic index
If you like sandwich bread in the morning, there is however the possibility of making a good choice for your blood sugar, your figure and your health. Dr. Cohen recommends sandwich bread with wheat flour and chickpeas from the Jacquet® brand within his book.
“ It’s a very nice product because by mixing wheat and chickpeas, we obtain a very good quality protein, close to that of animal proteins. In addition, the addition of chickpeas lowers the glycemic index. », Reports the doctor.

The salt content is low in this reference. This is also an indicator to watch out for when you buy bread in the supermarket. Manufacturers tend to salt products to ensure their preservation and better taste. However, salt is harmful to health and conducive to hypertension and water retention.
