Which app has the lowest transaction costs?
Driving is already expensive enough, so it’s nice to be able to save a bit on parking. The parking apps are particularly useful for this, because you only pay (if you want to) for the time you park. So while you pay per parking transaction on most transaction fees, it can save you money down the line. So what is the cheapest parking app?
Will there be one cheapest parking app in 2022?
There is quite a difference in the costs of parking apps. It also partly depends on how you use what the cheapest parking app is for you. One app has variable costs per parking action, while the other has fixed costs. There are also apps that are free to use per transaction, but they will not have full coverage throughout the Netherlands. The number one on this list is in any case a good one to try out.
Cheapest parking app 2022: Gaiyo
0 euros per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
Gaiyo is one of the few apps that doesn’t charge extra for parking. Adding license plates also costs no money. According to the parking service’s website, you can use the app in ‘more than 100 municipalities’. The free parking app probably does not have full coverage throughout the Netherlands. Until there is an app where you get money for a parking action, this must be the cheapest parking app.
Ease2pay
19 cents per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
Do you park more often? With this parking app you can also pay 1.49 euros for 30 days, then the transactions are surrendered. An advantage of Ease2pay is that you can also park without an account. Then you have to pay 25 cents via iDEAL (or 35 cents with a credit card) per parking action instead of 19 cents. The disadvantage of this is that (just like when you pay at the pole) you have to estimate in advance how long you want to park. If you get back sooner, you’ll lose that money. With an account you can also set an end time in advance. If you then park for a shorter period of time, you will get your money back. Also for this app, you can not use it in every municipality.
TanQyou Park
20 cents per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
TanQyou was originally an app for refueling and charging, but you can also park with it. The costs are simple: 20 cents for a parking action or you pay 1.50 euros per month to park at no extra cost. As with other apps, you cannot use this app in every municipality.
On the Go!
22 cents per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
Also with the On The Go! you can take out a subscription for 1.49 euros per month. Then you do not pay any transaction costs. Afraid you’ll forget to turn off the app? Then you can set an end time, just like with many other apps. Then you will receive a notification five minutes in advance that the parking action is about to expire. You can then ‘throw extra coins into the meter’ via your phone.
flash master
25 cents per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
As a dynamic driver, this app can save you a lot of money, but apparently also when you’re standing still. At Flitsmeister you pay 25 cents per parking action and if you add a license plate, you do not pay extra for it. There are plans to expand to Belgium with the valet parking service. Maybe not the cheapest parking app of 2022, but chances are you already have it on your phone anyway.
EasyPark
30 cents per parking action | 0 euros for extra license plate
EasyPark is an international app that works in 1,500 cities in Europe. In addition to the payment function like the rest of the apps here, EasyPark also allows you to plan your parking action in advance. This way you can already claim a spot at your favorite airport before you go on holiday. Also, the app would help you find a parking space close to your destination.
ANWB On the way
15 to 40 cents per parking action | 2.50 euros for extra license plate
You can also pay for parking in the ANWB Road app. The ANWB can choose from three options. With ‘Standard’ you pay 30 cents per parking action. Those who opt for ‘Short Parking’ pay 10 percent of the parking costs with a minimum of 15 cents and a maximum of 30 cents. Those who opt for the ‘Frequent Parking’ option pay 55 cents per week for the service. Adding an extra license plate in the app will cost you 2.50 euros.
Yellowbrick
15 to 50 cents per parking action | 2.50 euros for extra license plate
At Yellowbrick you have quite a bit of choice. For those who occasionally park, there is ‘Flex’. Here you pay 5 euros for an account and another 2.50 euros per license plate. For each parking action you pay 10 percent of the parking fee with a minimum of 15 cents and a maximum of 50 cents. With the ‘Basic’ account you pay the same registration costs, but 34 cents per parking action. For serial parkers there is the ‘Unlimited’ account. Here you again pay 5 euros registration and then 75 cents per week per user.
parkmobile
39 cents per parking action | 1 euro for extra license plate
As of January 1, 2022, the costs at Parkmobile will increase slightly. The rates will increase from 30 cents per parking action to 39 cents. You can also take out a subscription here for 2.50 euros per month per license plate. If you stick to 39 cents per transaction, adding a license plate to your account costs 1 single euro.
What is the cheapest parking app for me in 2022?
It is best to check for yourself how often you will use a parking app. On the basis of this you can estimate whether it is beneficial to take out a subscription or not. Most subscriptions can be switched on or off per month, so if there is a busy parking month ahead, you can also temporarily take out a subscription. It is also useful to check whether your destinations are supported by your favorite app. It would be irritating to have to download and set up a new app on the spot. Fortunately, you can always just use the parking meter at the location.
