Alopecia: Lili Reinhart follows therapy based on red light
On the social network, we see the actress filming herself undergoing therapy based on red light to stimulate the regrowth of her hair. “She’s my new best friend.”she explains.
Lili Reinhart previously said in 2020 that she battled depression and suffered from anxiety, a daily struggle she describes as “exhausting”.
The actress also revealed that she has dysmorphophobia, a psychiatric disorder characterized by obsessive thoughts about an imaginary flaw or slight imperfection on the body.
Lili Reinhart’s Alopecia May Be Caused by Mental Health Issues
Alopecia can in fact be caused by mental health problems, especially those associated with stress. Sudden hair loss can also be caused by an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune defenses attack the hair follicles by mistake, certain medications (especially chemotherapy), a fungal infection, certain systemic diseases such as lupus, hormonal imbalances, deficiencies (iron, zinc), physical stress (high fever, surgery, serious illness, sudden weight loss, pregnancy, etc.) or damage to hair follicles (burns, radiotherapy, pulled braids, tight curlers, straightening products chemical…)
“If a health problem is causing alopecia, doctors first treat the cause,” explain the MSD. They also treat alopecia by prescribing:
– medications aimed at filling male and female pattern baldness (which may take 8 to 12 months to take effect);
– hair transplants, in order to move hair follicles from an area of the scalp not affected by baldness to the alopecic area;
– wigs.

Long taboo, alopecia is a disease that has been put in the spotlight in recent years, notably following the declarations of Edouard Philippe and Jada Smith who revealed that they both suffered from the disease.
The National Cancer Institute defines alopecia as “a partial or complete loss of hair and, sometimes, body hair (eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, armpits, pubis, etc.)”.
