Earlier this week, the Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn confirmed that the promise to reimburse 100% of certain medical expenses, such as hearing aids, dental and the glasses would be well maintained by 2022. By specifying on the Public-Sénat channel that “It will not be the same calendar for dental, optics and hearing aids”.
With this in mind, the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam) has drawn up a draft tariff agreement proposed to dental surgeons and presented in The Parisian.
46.6% of procedures should cost the patient nothing
In this project, the Cnam offers three support dental care (called “care baskets”) different.
In the first basket of care, we will find essential prosthetic care (46.6% of procedures) for which the patient will not pay anything.
For care in the second basket, dentists will be asked to make an effort so that the “remain dependent be moderate”. While the third basket will include more “upscale” care, therefore not reimbursed and at free rates.
Reimbursement levels will also vary depending on the location of the tooth and the nature of the material used. Treatments on visible teeth (incisors and canines) should be better reimbursed than those on intermediate teeth (premolars) and back teeth (molars).
