Some Renault Clio, Captur and Zoe previously equipped with autonomous emergency braking (AEBS) as standard lose this equipment. On the first two models, an optional accessory pack also disappears from the catalog. The prices are reduced as a result.
Renault continues to cut in the equipment of its models because of the shortage of electronic chips which affects the whole automobile industry. Few manufacturers escape it, particularly among generalists with large production volumes. Latest victim to date: AEBS, a nickname for autonomous emergency braking from the diamond manufacturer, which disappears from the endowment of several models on versions which could be equipped until now.

Less active safety for the Clio and Captur
On the Renault Clio and Captur, the abolition of AEBS results in a price reduction of 300 € and its replacement in the list of equipment by a serial pack named Standard Security. Note that the most upscale finishes, namely the RS Line configuration of the versatile city car and the RS Line and Initiale Paris versions of the small SUV, retain the AEBS in their standard equipment.
At the same time, the Easy Drive pack disappears from the list of options for Clio and Captur in the Intens finish. For € 550 or € 700 respectively, this pack allows you to take advantage of adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring, as well as the heated steering wheel in the Captur.

Zoe also affected
The Zoe does not escape the cure. In its Intens finish, the electric city car also loses its AEBS autonomous emergency braking system. On the other hand, it finds the induction smartphone charger which had disappeared earlier from its endowment. Its price decreases by 200 € following this impoverishment of its equipment.
