Until the first round of the presidential election, L’argus details the proposals of the main candidates concerning the automotive sector. Valérie Pécresse (LR) wants to support the sector in turning to new energies, without sacrificing hybridization or car lovers.
On Monday March 14, the Mobilians, PFA, Fiev and CSIAM teams welcomed the candidates (or rather their respective representatives) to the Salle Gaveau in Paris. It was Xavier Bertrand, a fervent defender of the cause and representative of Valérie Pécresse at Les Républicains, who took on the task. Here is what to remember from the ideas of the latter and especially, from its program.
Support automotive players
Xavier Bertrand began his speech thus: I am from the camp of those who promote the automobile”. Starting from this observation, the representative evokes “ a reduction in production taxes” to help businesses, in particular through the enhancement of the research tax credit. Valérie Pécresse’s program also includes ” the creation of technological free zones” to improve the country’s competitiveness in the sector.
The president of the Hauts-de-France regional council highlighted the necessary transformation of the subsidiary. He wishes to support sellers, mechanics and other professions in danger, as well as to perpetuate ” aid for work-study ». The Republican has promised that the party’s first measure, if it wins the elections, will be to create battery factories in France and support research.
“The hybrid has its place”
Regarding individuals, the LR clan does not budge: “ you cannot ignore the hybrid and the rechargeable hybrid by 2035. The timetables are untenable for some of our fellow citizens, especially those in the lower classes”, argued Xavier Bertrand. In order to counter these inequalities, he also wishes to impose a “ interest rate loan 0 » to buy an electric vehicle. ” We want to make this ecological transition, it is not a duty but a desire, a need.he concluded.
Among other measures flown over, we learn that the ZFEs would not be abolished but the timetable for the bans, on the other hand, is stretched until after 2025. Valérie Pécresse also points the finger at the public authorities regarding the more than late installation of charging stations in France, believing that the rules of the game must be clearly laid down. Finally, Mr. Bertrand launched a few spades about the weight penalty. ” It’s a sick thing, it’s the ideology of those who don’t like the car”.
And purchasing power?
Closed on the subject of the VAT reduction, Valérie Pécresse plans to index mileage allowances to fuel prices. Thus, it prioritizes the “energy check”. This could be extended to the first bracket of income tax. But that’s not all: the candidate of the traditional right also wishes ” transparency on the revenue that the State will recover due to the increase in fuels”. Reference to the 18 cents discount offered by the Macron Government, a measure that came into force on Friday 1er April 2022.
