What mom hasn’t complained about having nausea during the first few months of pregnancy, but most importantly, hasn’t worried about having it? Now we know that this is not only normal, but also a sign of good health for the baby!
An American study that brings comfort to pregnant women
American scientists published a study that may give comfort to many pregnant women who experience nausea during their pregnancies. According to this research, published in the magazine JAMA internal Medicine, this vomiting could be a sign of good health of the fetus.
This study, conducted on 797 women who have started a pregnancy and have an increased risk of miscarriage because they had already had at least one in the past, reveals very interesting figures. Thereby, this nausea would reduce the risk of miscarriage by 50%, and by 81% if it is accompanied by vomiting!
Cautious conclusions
If this study allowed scientists to conclude that nausea during pregnancy is good for the fetus, it remains a scientific breakthrough that needs to be confirmed. So researchers are also wondering if nausea and vomiting are not just markers of a viable placenta. Since then, less nausea could signal less hormones, therefore a pregnancy may be compromised.
We can not emphasize this enough, every pregnancy is different, and the symptoms vary from woman to woman, and even from pregnancy to pregnancy in the same woman! We can therefore have a wonderful pregnancy without any inconvenience and have a very beautiful baby. Good luck to all future mothers!
