The future restyled Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé were surprised during the test session on the road. What to get an idea of their future evolution. This promises to be very discreet.
The presentation of the restyled Porsche Cayenne is only a matter of months. The third-generation SUV has been on the market since late 2017, and the German manufacturer is currently refining its update by carrying out road tests in southern Europe. The photos of poorly camouflaged prototypes show us the evolutions that can be expected.
Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé restyled at the same time?
Several Cayenne were surprised in the test, in standard body as well as in coupe, which suggests that these two variants will be launched at the same time. In either case, the bulk of the novelties seem to focus on the front part. There are optical units with slightly sharper angles, thus approaching those of the Taycan. Below, the redesigned shield features a frontal air intake whose horizontal bars are now double. No noticeable change is visible at the stern. The rear lights could display a new light signature. Inside, the Cayenne should follow the same evolution as the restyled Panamera. 911 steering wheel, improved multimedia system and new personalization options are to be expected.
A 700 hp plug-in hybrid Cayenne?
The range of engines of the Cayenne being already very close to that of the Panamera “phase 2”, it could remain unchanged during the restyling. Single the Turbo version S E-Hybrid could experience an increase in power and go from 680 to 700 hp. And let’s not forget the recent introduction of the all-thermal 640 hp Cayenne Coupé Turbo GT. A slight increase in prices should accompany the update of SUVs. The restyled Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé are expected in dealerships in 2022.
