You can use the extra code of the two-step verification, for example, if you want to transfer your WhatsApp account to a new phone. Previously, in that case, only an SMS containing a verification code was used. If you turn on two-step verification, you will also be asked for a 6-digit PIN code from now on. Have you set up two-step verification in WhatsApp, but forgot the PIN? If WhatsApp is still on on your phone, you can change the PIN code via the settings. It is then not necessary to enter your old PIN code.
- Open WhatsApp and go to Institutions.
- Tap on Account > 2-Step Verification.
- Tap on Change PIN.
Is WhatsApp not on? Then you can turn off two-step verification with your specified email address, so that you can open WhatsApp again. Then don’t forget to turn on the two-step verification again to make sure you’re well protected
