Nissan announces the replacement of the small utility NV250 in electric version. Technically very close to the new Renault Kangoo, the small Japanese van should however, like its cousin the Mercedes Citan, ignore the Sesame side door. It will be unveiled on September 27.
Nissan announces in pictures the very imminent presentation of a 100% electric utility vehicle. As you may have guessed, it will be the replacement for the current NV250. Like the new Renault Kangoo Van, of which it will be almost the twin, this model will be available in a “zero emission” variant which should be called E-NV250.
A more assertive style
The teaser of the Japanese manufacturer allows us to glimpse a front optical unit a little thinner than that of the Kangoo and whose upper part houses an almost horizontal LED strip providing daylighting. We can also guess a black grille, perhaps full, which sports geometric patterns giving it a certain visual relief. In its center, the brand’s logo is affixed to the charging hatch, which opens to the left. Under the hood, we find the same 102 hp electric motor as on board the Kangoo Van E-Tech Electric.

Renault keeps its precious Sesame
The Nissan publication also indicates that the trunk is opened through two doors of different sizes at the rear; a classic configuration found on the Kangoo Van. On the other hand, the French utility should retain the exclusivity of its right side door “Sesame opener”, the opening of which is not hindered by a central upright. The new Mercedes Citan, which also shares almost everything with the last Kangoo, does without this attribute. The full presentation of the Nissan E-NV250 is announced for September 27, 2021, and marketing will take place in the first half of 2022.
