Listeria: bries sold from December 7 to 22
The company “Traditions Terroirs” withdrew from sale on December 24 nearly 300 bries with truffles, due to the presence of the listeria monocytogenic bacteria.
Before the withdrawal measurement, the cheese incriminated was sold between December 7 and December 22 in Leclerc, Super U and Intermarché across France.
What is listeria bacteria?
The bacteria are distinguished by their high resistance to cold temperatures. Listeria is widespread in the environment and colonizes foods among other things as it grows and survives in refrigerators.
Foods most likely to be contaminated are cheeses made from raw milk that have not undergone long cooking at high temperature and cold meats.
What to do if you consume this truffle brie?
If you have consumed this truffle brie and you have a fever, headache or both associated symptoms, consult your doctor and report the consumption of this food.
The pregnant women, people who are immunocompromised and the elderly should pay special attention to these signs. They can indeed evoke a listeriosis, a potentially serious disease with an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
