Already known to promote the appearance of cavities and stimulate weight gain, sugar would also weaken memory and increase blood pressure. It would also be responsible for erectile dysfunction and deterioration of the kidneys.
The World Health Organization recommends reducing our sugar intake, so that it only constitutes 5% of our daily caloric intake (against 10% tolerated previously), to preserve our health. It is therefore advisable not to exceed the daily dose of 6 sugar cubes for adults and 3 for children and to avoid industrial preparations. Indeed, much of the sugars consumed today are “hidden” in processed foods that are not always considered sweets. For example, 1 tablespoon of ketchup contains about 1 sugar cube.
