Why keep physical activity? Being active is good for your health! Better life expectancy, reduction in cancer or cardiovascular risk … Every step counts: at home, in the supermarket, outdoors for a daily walk, you don’t have to be a great athlete to practice physical activity. Did you know ? 30 minute walk at a good pace are worth 20 minutes of running. In a healthy adult, walking briskly for 30 minutes a day reduces the risk of developing diabetes by 40%. The re-containment will not play with our health, it is promised!
Outdoor sports allowed
Yoga, walking, jogging, cycling … Back in time: as in March, amateur athletes can maintain an outdoor physical activity. However, certain criteria must be respected! It remains imperative to bring a derogatory travel certificate filled in correctly in the event of an inspection. Other constraints? The sport must be practiced alone, one kilometer from its place of maximum confinement and must not exceed one o’clock.
Sport at home is of course more advisable than ever, in moderation and according to your abilities and habits. The important thing to remember is that it is important to reduce your time spent in a sitting position by walking for a few minutes and stretching every 2 hours if possible. Force yourself to stretch your legs in your apartment or in your garden. Do not hesitate to take online courses, depending on your level of course.
Team sports prohibited
Rugby, football, basketball … Like gymnasiums, swimming pools and sports halls, outdoor team sports are not allowed. As part of the health restrictions taken before confinement, these places of sports activities had already closed their doors. Only those under 18 could go there. Small gap that differs from the first confinement? Collective sport in the extracurricular framework is maintained.
What about professional sport?
The competitions are maintained. Ligue 1, Ligue 2 or even Top 14 … Major events will take place thanks to the travel authorization for professional reasons. High-level athletes will thus be able to continue training during this second period of confinement. An evolution of the first confinement: between March and May, the football and rugby events were suspended.
