Two new and never registered Citroën 2CVs, from the same seller as the one recently auctioned for over € 140,000, will be auctioned by Aguttes on September 19. These are two 2CV Charleston, one of which is gray.
A few days ago, on the sidelines of the launch of the Tour Auto 2021 in which Argus took part, a Citroën 2CV was sold for € 120,000 during the auction organized by Aguttes. All costs included, the couple who bought it even had to spend € 141,960. It was an exceptional copy because new, never registered, in Charleston finish. As we indicated to you then, its salesman had three copies of the kind. The other two, in a similar state, will in turn be offered for auction.
The last 2CV ever registered?
Like that of the Tour Auto therefore, the two 2CVs in question have been preserved and maintained in good condition by an automotive professional since leaving the factory in 1990, the last year of production of the “Deuche”. The odometer of one of them shows only 9 km, which corresponds to the movements of the vehicles between the various workshops in the factory and their pre-delivery test. The other traveled 18 km. No license plate drilling was carried out, and each of the cars is accompanied by an application form for a vintage registration card. At first glance, only the replacement of a few parts dried by time and still original fluids is necessary for restarting. But will these cars ever drive? Their uniqueness and value are due to their immaculate character, and they could well be exhibited as museum pieces or kept for speculative purposes by their future owner (s).

A new gray Charleston
One of the two 2CVs for sale sports the most famous Charleston livery, which mixes black and Delage red, introduced by the 1980 limited series. The other, the less mileage, is entitled to the less common Nocturne gray / Cormoran gray biton finish. She still has the words “Cormorant” inscribed in blue chalk on her front right wing cheek. Aguttes estimates these 2CVs between € 50,000 and € 70,000 each, as the first car of the trio. But, taking into account the sale price of this one, the bids could largely exceed this indicative value. These cars will be offered as part of a sale dedicated to the Peugeot Citroën DS Adventure, which will be full of nuggets for collectors and which will be held on September 19, 2021 at the Citroën Conservatory of Aulnay-sous-Bois, in Seine-Saint- Denis.
