Launched in 2018, the Audi A6 is nearing mid-career and is set to receive a restyling next year. This one will be rather light as evidenced by the illustration produced after studying the camouflaged prototypes which are already circulating.
Marketed since summer 2018, the fifth generation Audi A6 – code name C8 – will receive a slight restyling next year for his mid-career. As often with Audi, the touch-ups should be minor. Thanks to the development prototypes already encountered on the roads, a first illustration lets us imagine the changes made to the large German sedan.

Minor changes for the restyled A6
Up front, the changes focus on the radiator grille, which would abandon the horizontal chrome lines of the Single Frame for a black honeycomb pattern more sporty. A change also planned on the restyling of the A8 limousine, expected for the end of 2021. Ditto for the shield, which would incorporate more refined and sporty air intakes. The light signature should for its part evolve slightly inside the blocks, which will opt for a shape very close to the optics of the Audi A3 of 2020. As for the rear, it should also adopt few changes: the visor – shocks will be reworked as at the front and the lights, connected by a thin chrome strip, will be slightly revised. The profile should not change. New pairs of rims and new colors could appear.

Inside, the restyled A6 will not shake up its dashboard already equipped with several screens and a very classic but effective design. On the other hand, it could be embellished with new materials and original upholstery in order to give a little boost to the current offer. Ditto for the technologies on board, already very complete. But we should not expect a revolution.

All engines equipped with micro-hybridization
Under the hood, all the engines of the restyled A6 will now be equipped with a 48V micro-hybridization, whether in diesel or gasoline. This will allow the large sedan to reduce its CO emissions.2 and, thus, to avoid an excessively penalizing penalty. The engine range is expected to keep the classic 35, 40, 45 and 50 TDI versions ranging from 163 to 286 hp and the single 45 TFSI gasoline with 265 hp. Updated in 2021 with a new battery, the 50 TFSI e hybrid proposal of 299 hp should also remain in the catalog.
The restyled Audi A6 should be presented in the second half of 2022, for sale at the end of the year or at the beginning of the year 2023. The restyling will also be applied to the rest of the range, from the A6 Avant station wagon to the S6 and RS6 sports cars.
