Alfa Romeo is preparing the restyling of the Giulia and Stelvio. A photo taken on the assembly lines of a factory seems to reveal one of the main changes to come, namely the integration of the Tonale’s light signature on the sedan and SUV.
Alfa Romeo intends to offer an all-electric range in its main markets in 2027. In fact, the current Giulia and Stelvio will be replaced by “zero exhaust emissions” models developed on one of the STLA modular platforms of the Stellantis group. and no longer on Giorgio architecture. Before that, the sedan and the SUV – launched respectively in 2016 and 2017 – will be entitled to a restyling.
The Tonale light signature
A first image of the restyled Alfa Romeo Giulia seems to have emerged on the Instalfisti Instagram account. We can see, in what could be a workshop, the upper front left corner of the car, whose hood is open. Not much, but enough to discover a redesigned optical unit. Similar in shape to the front lights of the current Stelvio and Giulia, this houses strips of LEDs rearranged to adopt the sinusoidal shape inaugurated by the Tonale. This results in three U’s whose size increases outwards to provide the vehicle’s front light signature. The main spotlights are nestled in the center of the arcs.
A question of aesthetic coherence
We can expect a similar taillight treatment on the facelifted Giulia and Stelvio. Enough to ensure visual consistency of the entire Alfa Romeo range, whose renewal begins with the launch of the Tonale. On the engine side, a light electrification of the range could be expected, but this remains questionable. The infotainment system could be significantly modernized. Initially announced for 2021, the updated Giulia and Stelvio could be officially presented before next summer.
