Verstappen makes a perfect 360 slip on the wet track in Turkey
As if the asphalt in Turkey wasn’t smooth enough, there was still a layer of water on the track this morning. Not only is the track smoother at the moment, but much of the rubber on yesterday’s track (which provides more grip) washes away. The first to enter the wet circuit are the two drivers from Alphatauri. The team opts for the blue rain tire. More drivers are coming out and the track is slowly drying up a bit. Many drivers switch to intermediate tires.
Max makes a 360
The sun starts to shine half way through. That sounds like good news, but it also creates an uncomfortably high amount of glint off the track, reducing visibility. Drivers have previously spun on the wet track, but it is ultimately Russell who gets stuck in the gravel box and briefly causes a red flag. Later, Verstappen also makes a spin, but he manages to make a 360 and continues on.

What is special is that the drivers on the wet track are already faster than last year in Turkey. Then the drivers were not below 1:35. The times are now in 1:30. In the end, the Dutchman takes the second fastest time. His former teammate Gasly is in first place. Perez takes second, followed by the Ferrari drivers with Sainz as fastest. Hamilton remains in second to last place. Bottas is in the middle bracket in ninth place.
