You often hear about probiotics, but without really knowing what it corresponds to. “Some advertisements even put them forward by adorning them with supposed slimming virtues. Caution ! Admittedly, probiotics are showing a growing interest in our health. But beware of shortcuts, warns Florence Foucaut dietitian nutritionist in Paris.
First, remember that probiotics are bacteria. Does the word bacteria remind you of microbes? Certainly. “The fundamental difference lies in the fact that these bacteria are good for our organism, and should not be confused with what are called pathogenic bacteria. That is to say the “bad ones”, at the source of diseases”, says the specialist.
“No miracles to be expected”
The intestine, the mouth, the skin also contain these good bacteria. And their benefits are diverse. They strengthen the intestinal wall, which protects against external attacks. A barrier is thus formed to repel harmful substances that cause food intolerances, inflammation, and even extra pounds. “Probiotics therefore have a certain interest in weight loss, but no miracles to be expected. If we do cures, we must couple them with a food rebalancing. Because if we continue to eat too many fatty and sugary foods or processedwe are not going to lose weight”, insists Florence Foucaut.
If these probiotics are found in the form of food supplements, some foods also contain a lot. Which ? Answers
