Useful apps for the car
Say useful car apps and most people immediately think of navigation. But there is a lot more interesting mobile software for the car.
Waze (free) in Dutch
A navigation app, but a special one. Waze uses motorists’ information itself to improve navigation and other services.
After installation and permission, Waze passes traffic information to a central database. Other Wazers then use this information to plan routes. In this way, the navigation information is increasingly detailed and improved. Users can also immediately pass on all kinds of current information about traffic, such as speed checks and accidents. In this way, Waze users are provided with the most recent traffic information and are not dependent on official bodies, whose information is often lagging behind.
Flitsmeister (free with ads – extra purchases from the app) Dutch language
Flitsmeister has become a well-known name among many road users. Flitsmeister’s traffic information is broadcast daily by Radio 538 and Veronica, among others. If you don’t want to wait for the radio, use the Flitsmeister app. It warns you quickly and up-to-date for speed cameras, mobile speed cameras, speed checks, traffic jams, accidents and other inconveniences on the road. The information comes from users who send notifications, but also from official sources such as Rijkswaterstaat and publicly accessible road cameras.
DirectLease TankService (free) in Dutch
Of course, every motorist wants to refuel as cheaply as possible. However, it is not always easy to find the cheapest gas station at a favorable distance. The DirectLease TankService app gives you a helping hand. With the help of information from fuel suppliers, users of DirectLease cars and users of the app itself, the prices of almost all gas stations in the Netherlands are collected. This makes it easy to find the best fuel prices in your area, whether you are on the road or at home. In addition, you can also see which brands of stations there are in the area, what opening times they have and what services they offer. Handy if you not only want to refuel but also want a sandwich.

Whether you use your private car for business trips, or your business car for private purposes: keeping a good mileage registration for the tax authorities is mandatory. EasyRit ritregistratie can help you with that. The app keeps track of your kilometers driven according to Dutch tax rules.

With the app you have your own cloud space in which all recorded information of the app is kept. This way you can always and everywhere with your mileage registration. For example, to update the data or to export it to Excel and your mail.
Find my car (free – additional purchases from the app) in English
Finding your car in a place known to you is usually not such a problem. But if you’ve parked your car in a city abroad, for example, fast tracking isn’t always easy. Suddenly all the streets look very similar.
The Find my car app offers a solution in these cases. Before leaving your car, simply record the coordinates of your vehicle using the GPS function. To find your car afterwards, open the app and you will immediately see on a map where your car is in relation to your current position. Then navigate yourself back to your car using the map and compass. Or you use Google Navigation. Can also be used to find your hotel, for example.
