IN 2021, the vital card will be dematerialized thanks to a “Vital card application” for smartphones.
Good news for those who tend to lose it. The vital card will soon be dematerialized thanks to a “Vital card application” for smartphones which will be tested next summer, with a view to generalization from 2021. The Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn announced it yesterday Thursday April 25, clarifying that the physical map will still exist in parallel. 59 million French people have a vital card today. It has been around for 21 years.
Update rights
The Vitale card aims “to become the tool for identification and authentication in the health system” of the insured, indicated the ministry, either to allow the use of electronic care sheets when one has forgotten or lost his card. It will also be possible to update rights without having to connect to a terminal, or to access various services, in particular your Ameli account and associated services, present and future.
This dematerialization must also facilitate the practice of telemedicine, in line with the 26 “actions” of Agnès Buzyn’s plan to “accelerate the digital shift”, like the personalized medical record (DMP).
E-prescribing
In the same idea, the Minister of Health also wants to dematerialize prescriptions. Drug prescriptions would constitute the first tests from 2019, before a start of generalization from 2020. Nursing acts and biological analyzes will follow the same pattern a year later, then physiotherapists the following year. This “e-prescription” must aim to “secure the transmission circuit of the prescription and promote coordination between professionals”, adds the ministry.
Agnès Buzyn also announced the appointment of Dominique Pon and Laura Létourneau, respectively responsible and ministerial delegate for digital in health. They will be in charge of piloting this new digital roadmap.
