We do not dare believe it, and yet, to live happy and in good health, it is enough to follow some simple advice, taken from a study carried out by the famous American University of Harvard.
Be well accompanied and well surrounded
Sometimes simple things are enough: thus, the study carried out by Harvard University, over the period 1938 to the present day, following 724 male volunteers, reveals surprising things. Thus, health and quality of life depend a lot on … those around us!
Loneliness and isolation lead to sadness and promote illness. Likewise, being around toxic people is bad for your mental health, and can make you sick; you absolutely have to stay away from it, even when it comes to family members. Conversely, if you are surrounded by friends or a community with whom you feel good, if you thrive as a couple, then health and happiness will be there for the long term!
Being able to count on someone else
The Harvard study focused in particular on couples. Surprise! A bickering couple is nothing to worry about! What matters is knowing that you can count on the other in the event of a hard blow, say the researchers. The fact of being able to count on the other makes it possible to preserve the memory, and to protect against chronic and mental illnesses, they still maintain. Amazing.
And at the time of retirement, happiness still depends on its ability to replace work colleagues, or friends who disappear, with new friends …
