Actor? Model ? Jock ? No, these are not the professions that make the French dream the most. It is indeed the profession of doctor that is acclaimed by our fellow citizens, men and women alike, in a survey carried out by the CSA institute and published in the free daily newspaper Direct Matin.
Faced with a list of 17 professions, 13% of those questioned judged that the profession of doctor would be “the ideal profession”. Next comes the profession of veterinarian with 10% of the vote and that of actor (9%).
Business manager, teacher and engineer are each cited by 8% of those questioned, far ahead of the military (2%) and police (1%) occupations, which close the ranking.
And women feel particularly concerned by the medical professions since 15% of them choose the profession of doctor and 13% the profession of veterinarian. Finally, the medical environment mainly attracts executives (15%) and retirees (17%).
The survey was conducted online from April 14 to 16, 2015 with a representative national sample of 1,001 people aged 18 and over using the quota method.
