The technical control is evolving for its thirtieth anniversary and follows a European directive of 2014. The passage of the periodic examination for two-wheeled, three-wheeled and motorized quadricycles will be imposed from January 1, 2023.
The threat had been hovering for a few months, causing the biker associations to revolt, but in vain: technical control will now be compulsory for motorcyclists. Long postponed in France, the measure was however imposed by a European directive of 2014 and already implemented in many of our neighbors.
Motorized two-wheelers and three-wheelers, as well as category L motor quadricycles, will therefore have to take the exam in the same way as other vehicles from the 1er January 2023. Worn by Jean Castex (Prime Minister), Barbara Pompili (Minister for Ecological Transition) and Jean-Baptiste Djebbari (Minister Delegate to the Minister for Ecological Transition, in charge of transport), the decree of August 9 was published in Official newspaper this August 11, 2021.
