More than half of the over-55s consider sex important. And three quarters of them are satisfied with their sexual relationship, according to Rutgers expertise center for sexuality.
But our sex experience does change over the years, says Rutgers. Intimacy becomes more important than lust, excitement and achievement. Intimacy is about closeness, connection and loving contact. Paying attention to each other, feeling safe and trusting each other. Cuddling, massaging each other’s feet and enjoying music or a nice series on TV together on the couch. Apparently, intimacy gains ground as we age, at the expense of sexuality. How’s that for you?
