Researchers have developed a new method to allow a man to predict whether or not he will suffer from baldness in the future. Called “60-second-hair count” (counting your hair in 60 seconds), this method, presented in the journal Archives of Dermatology, is performed with a simple comb and allows you to know until when hair loss remains ” normal “.
The study involved 60 healthy men between the ages of 20 and 60 who did not have baldness. Two sets of tests were organized, one at the start of the study and the other after 6 months.
At home, this test is carried out before shampooing, by combing the hair from the back to the front of the scalp for 60 seconds, over a pillow or a towel of a different color. It is then a question of counting and noting the number of hairs found on the fabric.
The process should be repeated three times, each time before shampooing. Repeat every month, this method allows you to present your results to your dermatologist.
Losing an average of 10 hairs per day is “normal”, the scientists concluded. Beyond 50 hairs lost in each “60 seconds” session, we recommend that you consult your doctor.
