Daily, every emotion, even negative, has its purpose. Fear can help to flee a potential danger, anger to defend oneself in case of aggression and sadness leads to awareness. As long as it lasts only a short time – from a few seconds to a few minutes – it retains its purpose.
When an emotion is felt in a lasting way, it turns into a feeling. If the emotion is triggered by external factors, the feeling does not need a trigger and will be generated by memories or the imagination.
The difference between emotion and feeling
And if a negative emotion is not evacuated, it turns into a negative feeling, which prevents the cycle of emotion from ending. For example, when a car rushes at us and we manage to avoid it, we can feel fear: it is an emotion. If the latter is not subsided, it can turn into a negative feeling: the next time we cross, we could feel insecurity or stress, either a feeling.
Thanks to self-hypnosis, learn to evacuate the old emotions blocked in you, by first becoming aware of them and remembering the origin of this negative emotion. Then, using your breath, imagine pushing that emotion out on the exhale. You can repeat the experiment several times, until you feel relieved of a weight.
