The second national environmental health plan (PNSE2) which will cover the period 2009-2013 is in preparation. The government aims to develop this plan before the summer. Thursday April 16, Professor Marc Gentilini, Honorary President of the Academy of Medicine, submitted the proposals of his working group to Minister of Ecology Jean-Louis Borloo, Minister of Health Roselyne Bachelot and Secretary State Ecology Chantal Jouanno. Proposals now submitted to arbitration.
Professor Gentilini proposes to organize the second national environmental health plan according to two strong axes, the first being to reduce the exposure responsible for serious pathologies including cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Second major axis, reduce the environmental inequalities that affect disadvantaged families who “live in areas where there is pollution related to air quality, noise and in unhealthy habitats,” said Thursday the Secretary of State for Ecology, Chantal Jouanno.
