Samsung to limit phone production before 2022

Samsung to limit phone production before 2022

If we are to believe the latest rumors, then Samsung intends to produce fewer smartphones for the rest of the year.

Earlier it was planned that Samsung would produce about 310 million smartphones. But that number has now been reduced to 280 million, he said Maeil Business News

In absolute numbers, that is a large number, but at the bottom of the line the percentage still seems to be not that bad. Perhaps Samsung wants to prepare for a negative market trend or the idea that the economy is going to take another hit; unfortunately the company itself does not disclose anything about this.

Fewer Samsung smartphones?

Which smartphones will be affected exactly? Reportedly, no series is spared. So it doesn’t matter whether we are talking about high-end or budget.

It may seem a bit crazy to also limit the production of the (relatively) affordable smartphones. These are models that people fall back on more often when flagships are out of reach. But it is also possible that consumers simply buy fewer or no smartphones and then you do not want to be left with a surplus.

Possible reasons for this rumor undoubtedly have to do with the pandemic (which is still not completely over), the war in Ukraine and rising inflation.
