After Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, classified in “maximum alert zone” vis-à-vis the coronavirus epidemic, Paris and its inner suburbs also went into the red on Sunday October 4, involving new health measures , including the closing of bars. The restaurants remain open, however, subject to respecting a strict sanitary protocol.
This protocol, proposed by the restorers, has been examined and validated by the High Council of Public Health (HCSP). Last Thursday, the Minister of Health had indeed affirmed that the closures could be avoided if measures “sufficiently robust, protective and controllable“were proposed in order to avoid contamination in these establishments.
This protocol will also be applied in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence.
What sanitary measures in restaurants?
The “reinforced health protocol” will be formalized by the Paris police headquarters in the early evening. It revolves around several flagship measures, according to AFP:
- the provision of hydroalcoholic gel on the tables, obligation to wear the mask except to eat.
- groups are limited to 6 guests maximum around the table, compared to 10 currently, including children.
- the collection of their contact details at the entrance of the restaurant is mandatory in order to be able to trace any contact cases.
- the reservations should be preferred to avoid crowds in front of restaurants.
Measures tested and approved in other countries. Thus, the “reminder book” to collect customer details (and quickly isolate “contact cases” of an infected patient) has been set up in particular in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
